Default Why won't interior doors shut anymore?

So I had new pre hung doors installed throughout my house. Been in for over a week and all shut fine into jambs. Took em down and replaced hinges with a different finish. Now the doors won't shut. They all seem to get caught up on the hinge side before door gets into jamb. Doesn't seem to be hitting anywhere. Any ideas?

are the hinges installed backwards? would cause the door to "bind" before it closed all the way.

Anytime you change hinge leafs or sets, the reveal will change from the hinges you initially set the door to. Hinges are manufactured slightly different from each other, especially at the pin area. When painting doors be sure to install the hinges exactly the same, even the pins change on older work. You can bend the barrels to adjust the reveals, either way that is necessary. You can also set the leaf deeper on one edge or the other to put a cant to it.
Be safe, Gary

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Will stop off and take a look at the doors tonight after work. Was wondering myself if it's possible for them to be installed backwards..... figured I was fishing for an easy answer.

Ok, so, now all we have left to do, is get our bottom board in. And, what we'll do is, we'll just take this whole door off, see if that will give us enough room, for this to slide in. (Cough) Excuse me. Now, put our hinges back on. And, there we go. OK... Read More »
