Where can I find more round headed wood screws?
I'm often in need of round headed wood screws for cabinet hardware and bar supports, things that need to be held against wood and look good. Home depot only has a small selection of these, and they are all for flat headed screw drivers. I find them hard to drive into wood.
Is there a place that has a better selection of round headed wood screws, with phillips heads?

Look in the phone book under Fastners.
If your near a city there's going to be several companys that do nothing but sell fastners.
To get a phillips head you may have to go with an oval head or a cheese head screw.
When I build something the last thing I want to have showing is screw heads, so I counter bore and use plugs, use my Kreg tool or glue.

I understand hiding the screws, that's why most are flat headed. But lets say I lost some of the round headed screws that fasten the cabinet drawer hardware to the cabinet. Those round headed screws have a nice flat inside to hold the hardware securely.
So many cabinets and furniture have those round headed wood screws, why are they so hard to find?

What you looking for is called a pan-head or washer-head screw. Mcfeely's an excellant source for screws. you may also be able to find a local lumberyard that is a GRK dealer. They have nice pan head screws with a torx drive.

As mentioned, a fastener store will be able to get just about anything in whatever quantity for you. If you still have small hardware stores near you, they will have fasteners in bins and their system reorders them when they run low. Corporate makes such decisions for box stores and order cheap Chinese crap. It seems like box stores either make you buy a package with 7 more than you need or leave you hanging and needing 3 more than they ever stock. Another reason I do not shop in them. They do not care!

Mcfeelys.com. They have a great selection like the kind of selection that can lead to $150.00 screw orders

A round head screw IS NOT a pan head screw. Pan heads are most often sheet metal screws. Round head screws are most often found in brass. check Ace hardware...they tend to have a better screw selection than the big box stores. Bolt Depot - Chart of Nut, Bolt and Screw Types

Try Ace Hardware. Many of them have Hillman fasteners, which is a major hardware distributor. If that doesn't "pan" out online is also a good source...if you know exactly what you want.
