What's that thing called?

I'm looking online for a piece of hardware but can't find it, a name would help. I'm trying to find a knob or thumb screw that has threads at both ends. I want one thread to feed into a threaded insert and the other to hold up a table top. I want the knob in the middle to allow for fine adjustment of the table height by hand. Kind of like a foot leveler but without the foot. Any idea if this exists and what it is called?

sounds like you could use a piece of threaded rod with a nut in the middle.

Thank you Maintence 6. That was enough of a name to help me find this on mcmaster. The male to male one is closest to what I want. I wish I could find one with a knob in place of a nut.

Maybe this would work
I have used them to bring a counter top joint together, but it might work for your application if you could modify it.
