what size beam do i need


what size beam do i need for a 4 foot opening on a loading bearing wall that sets on a slab ?

Kind of depends on the load above. Two story houses will need a larger header then a one story house. With a two story house you might need footings as opposed to resting the framing on the floor(4" slab)
