What to do with leftover wood

I've ended up with a lot of old, scrap, and leftover wood after several projects. Everything from old door trim to new full boards I never ended up using. I'll keep as much as I can stand for other ongoing projects and whatnot but wood is cheap enough, and my storage space limited enough, that I think I'll forgo my natural tendency to stockpile and get rid of most of it. Question is is there anything better to do with it than throw it out? Seems rather wasteful.

If you have pieces of trim that are big enough to do anything with, then habitat for humanity is a great place to donate it.

If you have scraps that can't really be used, then give it to me. I burn it in my wood stove and it helps keep my house warm without putting load on the grid.

Well, you don't know me and I don't know you, but maybe you know someone with a wood stove who you can give it to.

If you have a whole lot (like a pickup truck full) you could sell it on craigslist for firewood. Maybe $25 for softwood or $50 for hard. Just not plywood or anything finished.

Drink some beer, stand in the middle of the street, lift a scrap piece of crown above your head with both hands and yell "I'm the strongest man in the world!"

Put it on Craig's list under the, "Free" catagory.

Besides craigslist, there is freecycle. Our town also has a habitat "Re-Store" that would take such things.

I also use a lot as firewood.

Fire wood, high school wood working shop, Does your land fill have a clean wood recycling area. If not it should.
Our city Kelowna B.C. puts clean wood through a grinder/chipper and mixes it with the solids left over from the sewage treatment plant, then sells it as a soil enhancer for bedding plants.

Thanks for all the replies. Think I'll go with WirelessG's suggestion. If that doesn't work, I'll take it down to the Re-Store and see what they want (never thought of taking it there, thanks) the rest I'll give to a friend who as it happens just scored a wood stove.

you can't use treated lumber for firewood, it's toxic
