Weird size lumber???

There's variations in boards not only due to the mill they come from, but due to shrinkage and expansion, also, there's always the possibility boards on a house had been resized smaller, thinner etc by someone during construction, or by a later owner repairing.
Maybe they had some larger boards and ripped and planned them to a different size.
Sometimes we do that at work if a particular thickness is not available on hand, if you need 4/4 right NOW, and all you have is 5/4 you use 5/4 or you plane it down.
