wall microwave oven combo install

We took out an old GE (microwave, oven combo) unit and installed a new Frigidare unit. The problem is--the new one has open louvers on the top for ventilation. After talking to the appliance people, all of the new ones do because the microwaves are more powerful now. The guy that installed it did the best he could cleaning up the top sheet rock, however; the stud behind the sheet rock wasn't level. The guy also used some shiney duct tape over the sheet rock, behind the louvers. It really doesn't look very good because the tape is lumpy and again since the cross stud isn't level it's very bad looking.

We have a couple calls out for people with sheet rock skills, but I'm not sure just what to do.

Thanks, Jay

If your going to just hire someone to fix it, get a couple bids, and check references.

If you considering doing this yourself and want help, then posting some photos would be very helpful.

Sheetrock is easy enough to do, so if you are inclined to do it yourself you've come to the right website. Post a picture if you'd like some help with it.
