Wall frame and ducts

I am finishing my basement. And I am having a small problem i was hoping somebody on here could help me with. You see. Three of the four walls i am doing are clear so i can but up the frame for the wall fine. But then on wall 4 a duct hangs down about 9 inches and i dont know what to do about it. Any help or advice?

KayNyne---

You will have to build a soffit around the ductwork. Check out this thread...

You may need to build more soffits to go around any beams or pipes as well.

I am having a bit of a problem getting a good picture of your problem.......You will still need to build a soffit around the duct. You can build it on the wall too if that works better. A suspended ceiling can still be used with the soffit, you will just attach the framing of for the suspended ceilinf to the sides of the soffit.
