Wainscoting and crown moulding with unlevel floors
I recently purchased a home with a concrete slab foundation. We want to install beadboard wainscoting and crown molding. In some rooms the slab has quite a slope (3.75" in 29 feet) and we're not sure whether the wainscoting should follow the floor, or be installed so that it's actually level. The ceiling matches the floor so that it's always 98.5" from the floor. I'm afraid that if I install the wainscoting to be parallel with the floor the vertical lines of the beadboard will be visibly out of plumb and just look unlevel to the eye. On the other hand, I don't think it would look good to have the wainscoting almost 4" higher on one side of the room (one continuous wall) and not parallel with the crown molding.
Advice and/or opinions are appreciated.
