Upper Kitchen Cabinets
Any hints/suggestions on supporting upper kitchen cabinets without the availability of a wall to attach the upper cabinets to. I want to basically have an open unobstructed area between the Base cabinets and the Upper cabinets. I'm thinking of installing minimal pillars at several locations, from the floor through the base cabinets on through the upper cabinets. Another method would be to hang down support fixtures/brackets from the ceiling to certain locations of the upper cabinets?

Below are drawings describing the above.

From the sound of your question will this be on an island going into another room?? And there are base cabinets below?? and no wall?? What is behind the base cabinets?? Will you be working with a corner cabinet at all??

It sure would help if you could post a pic of what you are looking at:). That way better ideas on how to support will follow. Will there be LOTS of weight in those upper cabinets??? or is that where the Tupperware will go??

I guess you could do it the way you are describing. You have to make sure that everything is set up in a way to stay tight, because constant opening and closing of doors can throw it off center over time.

It is a shame they don't make anti gravity cabinets, because then you could do it with those.

As suggested, a pic would help us. There may be not wall, but I assume there is a ceiling. Hang the cabinets from the ceiling.
