Under counter microwave replacement
My under counter microwave is dead. I have a new one, but can not figure how to remove the old one. Is this something best left for a pro?

Under counter microwave replacement
I'm not sure could it have slid onto plates under the cabinet. Or are there screws that are assessible from the cabinet above it.

Under counter microwave replacement
Under counter, as you say?
or Under cabinet? The undercabinet microwaves have two bolts in the floor of the cabinet above. |

Under counter microwave replacement
If you are sure you have the correct replacement, then take a look at the installation instructions for that one. If you are lucky, it should be similar to your old one and give an idea of what you need to do.

Under counter microwave replacement
Different "under-the-cabinet, over-the range" microwave/vent units have different types of brackets.
Normally, they have four bolts. Two long ones the depth of the unit through the front of the microwave that screw into the brackets mounted on the wall behind the unit, and two short bolts through the base of the cabinet above it that screw into the top of theunit itself. Pop off any vent covers on the front of the microwave to find the bolt screw heads for the long ones. The short ones should be clearly visible in the bottom of the cabinet above the unit. You will need someone to hold the unit when you start taking those bolts out or it will fall. It's a little difficult to do by yourself. Good Luck! Mike |
