More time than money huh? Real wood lathes are not that expensive, ya know?

chitownken 01-19-2013 09:04 AM

Like many other things in life, just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.

ok, how am i wrong ?

Just a goofball looking for attention. I'd ignore him. Other than holding a chisel on top of a cinder block by hand, it's not that dangerous - more like just attention seeking.

I didn't mean it as you were wrong at all. I was agreeing with you. I actually think you were 100% right.

I did almost the same thing with a 91 Ford car the nieghbor gave me. Except I welded two rims together and put it back on and locked up the other front tire so I would get full power from that wheel and then I ran the lathe with a belt off the extra rim. Now I have an actual wood lathe... works much better.....

Considering that on most mowers like that you can disconnect the blades....not sure what the danger is......

I think jeffnc has it nailed.......hence, I'm not impressed.

Can I have those 2 minutes back?
