I have a project to build some screen surrounds to hide several heat pumps. I am thinking of using 2x2 trex materials lapped horizontal and verticle, screwed together, no dado, at joints spaced at a 5-6" oc. I know I will need to add horizontal stiffeners to prevent sagging but am worried that the whole panel may warp when the trex expands in the heat. Has anyone tried this?
Haven’t seen Trex for lattice but I have ripped out 3 different Trex railing systems on decks because of warping in the heat. I don’t have any problem with it for decking but that’s about it.
What about Vinyl Lattice?
