Treads and wall

I have 2 sets of staircases where the tread doesn't meet the wall. There is anything from a 1/16"-1/8" gap between them. Would should I put to hide the imperfections? Moulding? Any ideas/pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you have access under the stairs, I would molly the sheetrock to the treads. Be safe, G

How do you molly a vertical surface to a horizontal surface?
That aside, there isn't too much you can do unless you want to skim coat the wall to cover the gap. Or you could replace the treads, but that would be extreme.
Caulking the space would be the easiest.

If accessible, drill through the stringer, and the rock. Insert molly, tighten, it pulls the rock to the stringer. Done that a few times. Works on cabinets, too. Obviously limited, depends on where the studs are. Be safe, G

Thanks for the ideas. I will see if I have access to the sheetrock, but I don't think I do.

Another option I thought of was a skirt board. There was a thread a week or so ago that had a good way of making one.
