Tips Needed: Exterior Door with Alarm Sensor
 

I'm wanting to replace an exterior door that has the sensor that makes the alarm chime when the door opens. I can see the sensor is installed at the top of the door.

My questions are...
How do I disconnect the sensor when removing the door? Will it unplug from the wires? (I haven't removed the trim to get a good look at it yet.)

I assume there is a magnet on the top of the door slab. Do I just remove it off the old door and glue it on to the new door?

Any tips on how to deal with this sensor would be great.

One of the components will have two wires attached. Once you expose them, disconnect the wires from the terminals.

Thanks Ron. I changed out the door tonight. Like you said...two wires. I had to cut them and reconnect them once the new door was in place.
