I think I remember that from the movie 'Army of Darkness" with Bruce Campbell.

Nasty looking.

A bunch of plastic or wood pegs, screwed from the back side of a thick piece of plastic, piece of cake. Lexan would be best, but expensive, I would say at least 1/4" thick. Drill and countersink holes for pegs.

Do check your home owners insurance --that looks like a hazard to the health.

Find a local freak show and ask for the guy that lies on a bed of nails ... That's what this looks like.

You can get this material for cabinets, bathroom uses, or window replacements. A simple drill will penetrate plastic, and then you need to set in a screws or hooks for your design. You could hang it by putting screws through it, through some sort of spacer (bits of pipe or wood dowels or something) into the studs in the wall.

You could replicate the exact hooks by using Sculpy, a modeling clay that can be baked in an oven. It can make either pottery like items or even has more flexible types (I have some hair ties made from it). An art store would have that.

Can't tell if those pegs are hard or not but I am sure you can find something like it in a craft shop. Looks like it could be one of the 101 uses for a dead cat though.

This is not a good thing to build as the lower hooks can hit anybody's head or some other part of the body even while walking nearby it. You should take this frame and just build the upper lining of the design so that it is only used for hanging things like clothes or hats on them.

Did he say it came from facebook or face hook. It looks pretty easy to build. Just screw pegs, from behind, to sheets of plastic. It looks strangely similar to a ring toss game mounted vertically.

You blokes are just too funny............
I have to agree that to me it is "Butt Fuggly"..........but a challenge.

This is not as easy as it may appear to build.
For idea's on the pegs go to
This will save a lot of time if something suits your fancy.
Using a "Shaker Peg" as a hook , these can be pre-painted.
Installing these pegs at an angle will dictate an angled shoulder which should be avoided as it is tough to do, so find one that has a straight shank. If an angle is desired, use a peg with a nob on the end and install it at 90 deg which is simpler. These can be glued into the hole,
The plexiglass is relatively expensive and you will need it to be at least 1/2" thick to hold any weight without buckling. I would suggest using a MDF of 3/4" thick so that you can bore a hole for the peg with a box bit.
A plexiglass or lucite panel of say 1/8" can be picked up at home depot a lot cheaper and added as an overlay.
If you do decide to install the pegs at an angle, you will need to utilize a drill press and set the bed to the angle you need. Take time to position the holes as you will notice the slightest deficit.
We wanna see a photo of this when it's done
