temporary stairs

Hello everyone - First time posting! I'm having some work done to my basement and the concrete stairs and landing have to be broken up. Does anyone have any ideas for me to either purchase or fabricate a set of temporary stairs and landing?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum.
It helps if you include your location in your profile
and also include pics for your current problem.
If you Google 'temporary stairs' you will not see (except
for metal stairs e.g.) any temporary stairs for sale. You will
see a lot of scary pics of stairs that are accidents waiting
to happen.

If you can post a picture and tell us how far the landing is from the top edge of the stairs and the distance from the top of the floor to the top of the landing we maybe be able to tell you how to cut a stringer to build temporary stairs.

I just stacked cinder blocks until I had all the materials I needed to build my front porch and landing.
It was only a few feet, so it was not a huge safety issue. (Gramma had to use the back door to visit though, no handrail...) The new porch passed inspection just fine with a bit of help from all the guys here.

Guys thanks for the input. I'm putting temporary stairs up because there is still a lot of work to be done on the house to include add a second floor. So, there will be a lot of traveling to the basement to get things, measurements etc... I was told I could buy pre cut stringers at home depot and could build a makeshift landing to get me through the construction?? The guys are pouring the footings today and will begin to lay block tomorrow so I will be looking to put the stairs in next weekend.

Depend on how many treads you need, there only going to have some with a max. of 6 treads.
Any longer just have those guys make some out of 2 X 12"s.
