Teak Dining table is splitting

We recently bought a Teak table - and presumably because it wasn't dry enough and the fact our dining room is so dry - a major split has occurred on the top. . Is there anyway of treating it? The split is now around 45 cms long and about 2mm at its widest?

I'd be calling the place I purchased it from. It sounds like they used wood that wasn't at the correct moisture content to build furniture with.

Lots of teak furniture built in Indonesa is useing "green" wood and they often have drying issuses. Take it back and get a replacement that may do the same or fill the crack with something, putty or an wedge of teak. I don't think you will get it to pull closed again
