Tack filler strip to plastic threshold?
Hi Guys
At my house the front and back doors have those plastic thresholds made to look like wood grain. Also, the sliding patio door has a complete plastic frame. Where the hard wood floor meets the threshold on all of these doors there is a gap for expansion. I need to attach a filler strip to cover the gap but I'm afraid to nail (pneumatic) into the plastic threshold for fear of what's behind the plastic. If it's metal it's going to deflect the nail back out and make a mess of the filler strip. I was thinking of using a small bead of caulk as a glue to hold the filler strip but unless the wood strip is completely straight, which is highly unlikely, it's going to spring back. Does anyone here have experience with these types of thresholds? Thanks |
