Subfloor for wooden porch??

Hi..I have a question. I am going to have a wooden front porch built on my home..there is an overhang and porch posts, but that is all to protect it from the elements. At the moment, there is a deck style porch there..very basic and horribly built,so I cannot use it as a "blueprint" for replacement. To have a smooth, attractive wooden floor..do I need a subfloor or will that not allow water to drain properly through it? I don't know the standard way these things are done...any advice would be appreciated.~thanks~

Subfloor for wooden porch??

Water needs to drain off in some manner
You can either slope the floor, or leave spaces between the planks to allow water to pass thru
No subfloor should be required. Unless the finish wood is very thin
