Storm Door Install

My wife and I want to install a storm door at our front door. When I went to take some measurements I notcied that the door jamp was very shallow, about 1 3/8". Most doors have jams around 4 3/8" in depth. Do I need to need to extend my door jam 3" ?

Storm Door Install

Just figure out what the thickness of the storm door is
from the inside of the flange to the inside door handle
to see if you have enough clearence if not you will
have to add to the jamb.
