Storing tools in attic

This is a random question, but would appreciate some opinions.

Are there any issues with storing tools in an unconditioned attic space? I am thinking tools like a miter saw, air compressor, etc. Would the heat in the attic likely damage any of these items? Thoughts?

I think the high humidity would cause rust and mold.

So, mostly a humidity problem? Not a heat problem? What if I put the tools in a rubbermaid bin of some sort... better?

High heat will degrade rubber parts over time--the belts, hoses, etc. would begin to crack. The heat/humidity won't affect the metal parts too badly, as it's not directly 'in' weather. I've kept armature tools in the attic for years--circular saw, jig saw, drills, etc., without a problem.
