Thanks for bumping this,Ole Jim---I'm sure that a lot of people will enjoy the amazing wood---

Mike, if folks don't like that wood they can't be pleased, I appreciate you posting the link to the pictures.

Jim --It's wood like that that made me love wood as a kid--and keeps me wanting to make things made with it.

For years I kept on old barn door--just to look at--it was almost 4 feet wide--made of two boards, one about 30" wide---100 years of wear---

Love that black walnut

Looks like a big flooring advertisement once you get past the first few pictures. Nobody has that many different floors in a house.

I wonder what part of Tennessee. I know a lady just out side of Memphis who sells reclaimed antique wood. When I was in business I bought a lot from her and her dad.

I wonder if they know that their photo album has had all this attention?

I love the reclaimed woods---I made a bunch of clocks from wood saved from an old barn--
(over thirty years ago)

After sanding I hit the woods with wipe on polly--the wood turned a gorgeous red/black--

Clocks have always been saved for gifts---I never wanted to turn such an enjoyable task into work--

Those old clocks became cherished heirlooms for the receivers--The craftsmanship was simple,it was the wood that made them so special.

Mike I love working with the old antique woods also, I had the pleasure of making a reproduction of an antique hutch out of American Chestnut which was at one time church pews in an old church south of Oxford Mississippi built around the first of the 1800s. That was the first time I had worked with actually old growth Chestnut and was surprised at how well it machined and how light it was. It had the look of a cross between Ash and Red Oak but much lighter. I still have a little of the Chestnut left and may make a turkey call out of it.
