Anyone know of any good books on building sheds? Detailed instructions for a novice carpenter. My kid wants me to build a chicken coop and my carpenter skills arent the best..

Hi,

My suggestion would be for you to go to one of the Large Home Style stores (the one with the intitials H.D. ).

They have an area for magazines and 'How to guidebooks', etc...- they are loaded with information - exactly like what you are inquiring about. They have pretty much any kind of DIY project guidebook there with pictures and step-by-step directions.

Good Luck!!

PS - Best advice for something like what you want to do: after you do some 'boning up' on the 'How-to' part of it....draw it out on paper first. Design it on paper, that will help you alot when it comes to actually building it. You will know exactly howyou want to build it and what you will need to build it with.

Your welcome Econdave.

My wife & I built this shed a couple of years ago,on a rental property we have.Although I did the foundation differantly.Since the shed is a stand alone structure,I decided to save myself a lot of back breaking work and went with a foundation like this http://www.outbackwoodproducts.com/f...rage_sheds.htm
Much easier! than digging holes.
