Question

Sealing wood together?

Hi, I'm trying to seal two pieces of wood together end to end and am wondering what would be the best product to buy to do this?

What is it your really trying to make?
A glued butt joint would be very weak.

It's the middle post, and doesn't hold up the mattress.

I've been looking around myself. How about some Gorilla Wood Glue in the crack between the boards?

How about buying a new piece of wood and cutting it to fit?
If not, perhaps mending plates (metal flat stock from 1-4" or so that act like a splint)?
