Router base plates

I have used a table mounted router (Dewalt 618) for 2-3 years and can get most of the results I want. I recently tried to use the router as hand held, and after the assembly realized the 1/2 " radius bit did not fit through the openning in the base plate. Dewalt only has one base plate available. Is there a source for base paltes with larger opennings, or do I have to get a base feom Rocklers and drill out as needed?

May not be what you need but if there is a Lowe's close they are closing out some Milescraft offset router bases which look like they will fit a lot of different router. Half priced at 9.98. Picked one up today along with some Bench Dog feather boards on clearance also.

Porter Cable has the same trouble----I just enlarged the hole on a spare base plate.

Router base plates

Not sure about Dewalt, but PC bases with oversize hole (I think it is 2-1/2") is pretty common, I think even HD has them.
But I generally don't worry about the base plate, they are cheap enough, so I have a couple with different size holes where I just ran the bit through them. This gives maxinum support, and helps prevent the router from tipping when an oversize hole passes over the end of the stock.
