Roof truss sprung
Hi just wondering if anyone has an idea what happened to my roof. I recently had new facia and eaves troughs installed on my house. When they were done i looked up at the roof and noticed that a roof truss had sprung and there was a bulge in my roof. I called up the people that done the work and they said it was nothing they had done that could have caused this. The truss that sprung is in a spot i cant see from the attic so hard to tell what the main cause is. Now my question is could the company that installed the new eave troughs and facia could have done something to cause this and if so what did they do wrong If you have any ideas let me know thanks

Roof truss sprung
Need a picture....and I have never seen a roof truss do exactly what you are describing, unless you would have long overhangs to the eaves, and the truss overhangs the supporting wall...and this is a maybe. Sounds more like you have decking that has popped loose. But without a picture(s), you won't get an accurate opinion here.

Roof truss sprung
Sometimes putting new trim/fascia on will accent the horizontal lines. This can make any sags or deviations much more noticeable.
I had a garage with a lintel over the door (bearing wall) that had a sag in it. I never noticed until I added gutters that were level and straight. Last edited by concretemasonry; 01-08-2007 at 07:49 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Its definetly sprung loose Could they have pulled some nails they shouldnt have There is a gap of about 2 inches on the edge and you can see where it has raised the sheathing. I can take a picture and send if you would like to look at it
