Rockwell products in general get very poor reviews. I can't speak for the saw, but the all-purpose cutting tool you see on TV all the time is absolute JUNK.

Just did a search for any feed back here's one that may seal the deal for ya, by the way it was the only one on that site anyway.

I recently purchased this saw and promptly sent it back. First of all it sounded like it was on its last leg and had a bad electrical smell. When I tried to make a square cut the saw would only cut square within 1/16 of an inch.

I promptly got out the manuel and boy is that a joke. Nothing about how to adjust the saw or really anything else. When I called Rockwell all you get is the run around from the computer and when I contacted the Ace Tools site that was recommended by Rockewll, they only sell parts. Also the blade changing is not an easy operation.

I have owned a Rockwell saw since 1984 and it recently "died" after years of service in a commercial window shop and my home shop. This new miter saw ia a far cry from the old one. Of course when the new saw arrived and didn't work I checked the label and sure enough; "Made in China".

How long will we be content to purchase this Chinese junk and continue to fill our landfills with it. I would not purchase a Rockwell tool ever. They are so proud of their tools they do not even have a "Contact us" spot on their web site. I now have a new Dewalt miter saw and am very happy with it. Made in Taiwan and not in China.

Mark

Edit - did some more investigating, the saw is junk, every review I read was not just negative, but very negative.

This is not the old Rockwell tool company. This is a pathatic attempt at banking on a reputable name while making a low end tool.

Ditto to everyone else... It is now a low $ junk tool sold at Menards.
