Replacing Kitchen Cabinet Toe Kicks

I have an old townhouse and the previous owner- painted the falling apart toe kicks black. The cabinets are standard oak. How would I go about replacking the toe kicks. Can they be purchased and would you suggest keeping them oak in color. Once done I am going to put in new quarter round molding.

Or should i just put the veneer that goes onto the current toe kick- what is the best way to glue?

thank you so much I am new here and young and want to learn.

You can use 1/4" oak plywood, just cut it to size. Stain and poly to match if that's your goal. Attachment could be contact cement or brad nails.
