Question

Replacement Track for Table w/ Leaves?

Hello.

A few months ago my wife and I refinished a dining room table with 2 leaves that we picked up for cheap. We love the finished product, but there is a hitch: the wooden tracks used to expand the table are very worn and fall out of groove when the table is expanded. The solution we're using now is a pair of c-clamps whenever we put the leaves in (not ideal).

Where can I get a nice expandable metal track that I could screw into the underside of this table to replace the worn wooden ones? I've tried stores like Home Depot to no avail.

Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

-Nate

If you don't have the tools or expertise to make a new set, I am certain a local cabinet shop will make new tracks for you. They can use a hardwood like maple, ash or oak and they'll last a long time.

Replacement Track for Table w/ Leaves?

Thanks...I was hoping to be able to just pickup a metal track somewhere instead of having something custom-made...

If www.rockler.com doesn't have it, nobody will.

Walter of Wabash.........has been bought out, but they still trade under that name. Do a search on the web. Wood tracks to fit most situations.
