Repair minor divot in trim around garage door

I blew it. I hit my passenger side side view mirror on the side of the garage door and took out a 2 inch long piece/divit of the trim...Tiny and thin.
Could probably paint over it but wondering if I should use wood glue to glue the small piece back in and tghen paint. Husband is mad...trying to be a big girl and handle it while he's out today! suggestgions?

whats the trim made of. if its a smooth surface autobody filler works very well

Without a picture how can we know which piece of trim it is?

Could Guerilla Glue it than sand off the excess, spot prime and paint. Or use a wood filler depending on how big it is.
