Repair door frame on hinge side.

Not finding the anwers to this particular problem anywhere on the net. The bottom part of the door frame where the hinge is attached is torn right off. Can I cut and replace that part of the frame or do I need to replace the entire length of the board?

Repair door frame on hinge side.

Figured it out for myself. If anyone interested, it works fine to replace just the damaged section of the damaged frame member. In my case I cut 6 inches above and down to the floor. The frame nails into the jack stud anyway so it was adaquate to juse loosen up the trim pieces on the bottom, cut and remove damage, naikl on new piece and reattach trim. I didn't even need to completely remove the trim which saved me from having to realign it. Fortunately, in my case there was no shimming on the hinge side otherwise that would have to be matched also.
