reframing outside wall of 2 family home

i have a 2 story 2 family home that had a leaking roof that allowed water to leak inbetween the walls for years. the studs and outside wood covered by the siding are completly rotted out. im suprised the house is standiing. what is the best way to fix this. i was going to take off all siding then replace stud by stud.

Some structural strength can come from the sheeting in older buildings.
1X8 shiplap is often used and this can form a bridge between studs. So, even if a stud has rotted off at the bottom, its load can transfer to adjacent studs.
For this reason, it could be very dangerous to remove the sheeting.
Conceivably removing the sheeting could be similar to the straw that breaks the camels back.
