Question on installing pergo stair nose

I am getting ready to put the stair nose on. My question can I use liquid nails and brad nails to put it down rather than the finishing screws. I would think a brad nailer would be alot cleaner than putting the finishing screws in even though you use the pergo finishing putty. Any thoughts? Thanks Tim....

Thanks for your reply charlesmd and I agree with you but I'm already committed because I've got everything done except the trim and stairnose. Got to make the wife happy:laughing: ....Tim

I recently installed Columbia Laminate tiles (tounge and groove) and when I installed the stair nose, I used liquid nails and a couple brads. It seems to work fine.

Have you already bought the Laminate material? There's a new company in the US that does the tread and the nose in one piece and they have their own adhesive that works really well. Let me know if you want some info.

I appreciate that Rheingold but I've already bought it and have gotten everything done but the trim and the stairnose. Thanks again...Tim:)

I'd like to know about the one-piece laminate you described. I want to put laminate on concrete stairs in my house. The front edges are rounded so a one piece might work better.
Thanks, Bill

Same here... what's this company. Doing basement finish and would like to "cover" existing threads with hardwood "or look-alike". Also, on side of the threads is exposed... hoping a couple of 45 miter would fix this.

Stair-Treads.com

I purchased from these guys, and they were extremely helpful. In fact, photos of my project ended up published on their web site. I highly recommend them.
