Question on baseboard at transitions

Hi all,
After installing tile in a couple of rooms in my house, I have elevation changes between room. I'm getting ready to re-install my baseboard, and transition pieces for the floor.
What is typically done to baseboard molding at corners where there is an elevation change in floor height???....so far, I haven't been able to find any photos or examples.. Also, baseboard first, then transitions??, or does the baseboard get coped over the transitions???....help!!!

Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Sam

Question on baseboard at transitions

usually the baseboard butts into the casing but out in the open we used to run the baseboard up to the higher floor then ripping the baseboard down for the higher floor so the top of the baseboard lined up. if you make the change in the baseboard first then put your transition down against the baseboard where the floors come together no one can see where the baseboard changes height. In one job we had to transition from 5 inch to 7 inch baseboard, we just mitered the 7 inch down to offset to the height of the 5 inch
