Angry Post caps

Do not use the Verand product post caps on their Veranda product post sleeves.
The caps, although, nice looking, allow rainwater to sip into them and rot the 4x4 posts.

I called Veranda and they suggest I go to Home Depot and try to get the caps replaced. Why would I want them replaced? The replacements will have the same problem
