Porch Repair and Box Gutters material
Im going to be working on our 1915 wooden porch. It needs a lot of paint stripped and some of the trim, crown molding, and dental molding replaced.
In addition, the box gutters dont have the appropriate slope, so Ill be fixing those as well.
For exterior work like this, do you just use pine (non pressure treated) everywhere, then seal it up with an oil based primer?
Thanks for any help.
Alot of trim today is a composite material that holds up to the weather and takes paint. You might want to look at that over wood.
Thanks, ill check out the local lumber places. Theres a lot of trim and crown molding that i expect to just remove and replace rather than sanding down the old layers of paint. Hopefully much of the remaining wood can just be sanded down and prepped for repaint.
