pony wall

I have a 4' pony wall without a finished top. what do I need to build to cap it off? I want to put a granite mosaic top on it that will overhang the wall by 1 1/2 " on either side making it 8" across. I want a nice finished look. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to cap it with plywood. 3/4 or 1" probably. Is the pony wall solid? Does it wobble if you push on it?

Make sure its _extremely_ stable before bothering with anything nice like granite. Just wait for some kid to crash into it and crack something :S
