This may not be the right section, but I am wondering if anyone know if you can remove the door from one of those pre-hung pocket doors?
I've never had any success in any remodels in the past and have just removed them completely. But in this case, I'm just putting in flooring and the door needs to be shortened at the bottom and didn't think it would be a good idea to cut it while it's still hanging...
There should be some flat trim that is on the inside of the jamb. you should be able to pop that loose. With the door in the open position look under it. There will be a guide at the floor that will need to be removed. Once you have those removed you should be able to open the door and swing the bottom back and forth. Swing the bottom out and you will then just lift it off the track.
If it is a Johnson pocket door kit, you should be able to remove a top section of jamb with 3 screws, then you can lift on the door and slide the trolleys out of the slotted hole in the top of the door brackets.
