Pantry door problem.
We recently moved into a 6 year old house. After just a few weeks, we are really getting annoyed by a poorly laid out pantry door that opens out into the microwave. The microwave is immediately next to the pantry. The pantry has double doors of a cabinet style matching the rest of the cabinets and look really nice. However, the pantry doors are at a 45 degree angle and open out into the microwave. The pantry doors have already been damaged by opening them when the microwave door wasn't all the way closed, and the microwave door is likewise at risk for getting broken.
Is there any way to preserve the look of cabinet doors on a walk in pantry, but have them open inward rather then opening outward?
My first thought was make them like bi-fold closet doors where they slide open to the left.
BTW, I really like your stainless steel setup. Looks sharp.
What's behind the pantry doors, rollout shelves, open space with fixed shelves, etc.? Can you post a few more pics showing the inside and what's to the left of the pantry doors? I don't think you would be able to make them swing in. That is a poor design. Besides having the oven/micro right up against a corner with no filler, it looks like your refridge is right next to the oven. That's another nono. It's usually nice to have some separation between the two, one for handle/door clearance, and then to have some countertop space between them.
