outside steps leading to back porch

greetings all.. okay this is what I would like to do.. the only way to the back porch is through the back bedroom. I would like to cut an opening, and add some steps that can be folding up and out of the way.. could I just grab some risers from the local hardware store and use a piano hinge of some sort.. cut an opening the same width as the steps.. so that when the steps are not in use they can be lifted up into that opening.. ive been looking on youtube and all over the web.. cant seem to find anything like what I want to do thanks for any help you guys can give...

Need a lot of pictures. This sounds like a real chewing gum and bailing wire project you are attempting, here.

My guess would be that the OP is trying to build something like the fold-up ladders used on above ground pools. Stairs would fold down to provide access from driveway, but then fold up out of the way so as not to block the drive. Would think that could be done with some sturdy hinges and building a rigid stair assembly. Not sure how you could make it aesthetically pleasing from inside the deck area when the steps are folded up, though.
