open stair framing trimmer joist

This is on new construction: At the top of stairs one side is open (stairs run parallel to joists) so trimmer joist can't carry thru. I would just butt header into end of trimmer joist (wall underneath for support) right? (instead of a typical square for framed opening, it would be an L shape, if this makes sense).

Hey neighbor, got any pictures? I can't believe our grandson is a turn coat GA fan, the other an Alabama fan and Me a Tennessee fan (sometimes). I hope we can help you out.

Thanks for your offer to help, I got an answer from trusted family friend, so I'm good to go.
