oak trim w/ pine door

I have 2 pine doors but would like to use oak for the trim. I am told I can not make them look alike. I am also told that the mixture of woods looks good. Does someone have a picture so I can see for myself?

I will have red oak floors in the mix as well.

If you want to match the doors then use pine trim.

Pine is fine, oak is fine, pine & oak are fine. Woods get mixed all the time in a variety of applications. If you like it, do it. No they will not match, they are not supposed to.

I agree, you might get a peice of oak and pine trim, hold them up there and take a family vote.

The two woods have different grain characteristics, so they won't look alike. You can stain them if you want to get them to the same general color. See if you like the results.
