New Basement stairs question

AtlanticWB, being a Moderator, gave the answer recently compiled to represent the DIYChatroom Staff viewpoint which has recently been set-up as a “Sticky” for such occasions as this. Our main goal is to help others DIY, not supply a price which is why we have no forums designated as such. Other members are encouraged to post this “Sticky”, or main parts of it for new members thus helping the Moderators utilize their time for more pressing matters. We thank all members that are able to help us in this way.
It is the fourth sticky under “General Discussion” or just copy and paste this link: "How much will it cost?" Asking for price estimates here.

Gary,

Why not just make it a sticky at the top of this forum and the building forum. It's so much easier that way. People click on the forums and it's right there. How will posters who start a pricing thread know not to ask this if it's not here? They're not going to go to" General Discusion" first to know this.

Ballparks numbers mean nothing ...that's why. Why even throw them out there? Makes no sense. Especially if your a thousand miles away. They are useless numbers that even when given.... people will use that number in the back of there head no matter what way you look at it.

If they're that stupid, serves them right.
It's not like I'm going to give someone an estimate over the phone before I go look at it.

Come on Joe. Give me some credit.
I was already told not to throw numbers out (even though everybody else does it w/o being ragged on), and I said I wouldn't.
Enough already.

New Basement stairs question

This forum is for DIYers, not for people who don't trust the quotes they're given (do it yourself if you don't trust contractors) nor (even worse), for people who come here to complain about the work they had someone else do for them (maybe they could have done it better themselves).

New Basement stairs question

Easy fellas. That's why I asked for a ballpark. I haven't done a new set of finished, interior stairs before ... just wondering if it was worth having someone else do it, or do it myself ... cost wise.
Thanks for the input folks.
Moderators, I will remember not to ask pricing questions
