Need to remove base molding

Put a piece on that is not straight. What is the best way to remove it? Pry it off? Thanks.

yep. flat pry bar, they make small ones for trim removal.
also when pulling the finishing nails/brads/whatever, pull them out through the back side. this avoids damage on the front.

Tap in 4" wide putty knife where the nail is from the top ad pull back slightly to form a gap. Then tap in a flat bar or trim bar between the knife and the trim using the putty knife to protect the wall.
Should only be attaching the trim where the studs area.
A simple fast way to lay it out is by finding 2 studs to see how there spaced then laying a tape measure in the locked position on the floor with the tip in the middle of the first stud.
Old house? Then it's near impossible to set it level along the whole length.
Set a piece of thin plywood on the floor to set the moulding on at the two ends and use 1/4 round to cover up the gaps.

You can start the pry with a puddly or spackle knife first.

Problems. Can drill head off if nail.

Electrical dykes ( diagonals ) helpful also

I like to use a painters tool--tap it in between the trim and wall--and gently pry the trim out a bit---then find the nail with the painters tool--set the tool on top of the nail---hit it with a hammer.

The nail will be bent and pulled out of the back of the trim.
