My doors stick...I need ideas.

What can I do to make my front and back doors from sticking when I close and try to open?

We painted both doors recently and I didn't go on the edges, I just left them natural. They door stick now!

I know the weather makes the wood shrink and widen but now that it is cool I think it might be some piant that might of gotten on the edges.

What do I do? Oil? Sand?

It is so loud to open my front door I nearly wake up my toddler each morning!

Try just waxing around the edges with paste wax. If it is the paint that is sticking this should solve the problem.

The paste wax is a good long term solution. In the meantime, you can use bar bath soap to rub on the edges of the door itself, one edge at a time to see which edge is sticking. Actually, you could rub the soap on maybe the top fourth of the door edge, try that, and if that is not the area, try the next fourth of the door edge. This way you will find the sticky area quickly. A good paste wax can be found at most big box stores in the wood finishing area. Good Luck, David
