I am doing wallpaper and a chair railing. I have an outside corner in the room where I want to run a thin strip of molding from floor to ceiling because the outside corner is very uneven.
My question is this. Should the chair railing run continuous and the molding be split coming down from the ceiling to the floor or should the molding run continuous from floor to ceiling and have the chair railing butt to each side the floor to ceiling molding on this outside corner?
I think mitering the chair rail around the corner and splitting the floor to ceiling would look cleaner especially if the molding (floor to ceiling) is kinda thin. can you clean up the corner with corner bead and good ole joint compound in place of molding? really its personal preference try mocking it up both ways with scrap cut offs.
