Mitering (sp?) a corner

Hello,
Would you get the same results when mitering a corner if you split the angles in two instead of half? I.E. a 100 degree corner. Would the results be the same from a 55 degree corner and a 45 degree corner instead of a 50 degree and a 50 degree? Or better yet. How do you calibrate a compound miter saw? I think my saw is off by 2 or 3 degrees. Thanks for your time and input.

No. You need to split the angle. If not, one side would be longer than the other. Calibrate the saw with a good square.

Check the saw with a comb. square, at 90 and 45 deg. If off, check the manufacturers instructions for alignment.

Thanks for your time. I'll need to dig up the manual. I know I have it somewhere.
