What blade do you like ? Please be specific if you can..I've seen many different blades from one name..My saw is 12" .....

For finish work I use a Forrest miter master. I've been using it for about a year and yet to have it chip or splinter my materials. For anything else I'm pretty happy with Oldham.

The one big difference that I see in the different manufacturers are the relief cuts (expansion slots and holes) - in the blades. Some are poorly designed and almost useless.

Here is an article about saw blades:

FWIW - We get our 10" and 12" blades re-sharpened for 1/2 the price, or less, of what it costs to buy new ones. All wood shops re-sharpen their blades. You can get up to 8 resharpenings from a blade. The place we use will replace missing carbide teeth as well. They come back resharpened and better than new - each time.

I'll Second the recommendation for Forrest blades AND for sharpening. Forrest will sharpen the blades for you for a minimal cost.

many places sell them online and they do, sometimes, go on sale. Amazon can have coupons, etc. You wont find them at Homedepot or Lowes I don't think. Woodcraft would stock them if you have one near you.

I don't think the extra cost of the forest blades is worth it for most people as well as the fact that only a small number of the sharpening shops can do it properly. If your a professional who uses there saw all the time than go ahead and buy a top quality blade like the Forest but if not go with CMT or Fraud thin kerf blade because most 12" saw's are under powered.
