Masonite 2 panel interior doors.
The door from my bedroom into the master bath opens into the bath. It interfers with my closet door in the bathroom. A pocket door would be a resolution but too messy. I am thinking of replacing the 28 inch door with two 14 inch doors and have them open into the bedroom. These doors would not take up much room inside my master bedroom because it is good size. Don't sure I can get two 14 inch doors. It would work like french doors from the master bedroom to the bathroom. Do you think this is possible. Thans you.
I know you can get bifold doors to fit a 30" opening but a 28"???
You may get into difficulties with the edge blocking thickness if you cut them down by too much. Then there is nothing to screw your hinges to.
Check on door availability in your area first.
Hanging beads and sitar music might be funky
We did something very similar in our house.
We replaced most of the bifold doors in our house with two regular doors and now each opens up like french doors. Our front entryway closet was a single bifold door and we put two regular doors in the opening. It looks great and works so much better than the bifolds.
I just can't remember what the width of that closet and I am at work so I can't measure it.
In fact we did the same with our bathroom. One single door would have been an obstacle but with two doors they are very inobtrusive. I think we went with a 36inch opening and therefore two 18inch doors for the bathroom.
So yes, I think it will work and look good too.
